Where to Get Vaccinated
Visit ICLAC’s Where to Get Vaccinated page for which routine and recommended vaccines are needed for you or a family member, how to find a vaccination clinic near you, or request in-home vaccination. Information provided is for all routine and recommended vaccines throughout the lifespan including COVID-19 and flu.
Visit LA County Library to register for your free in person vaccine. LA County Library is partnering with LA County Department of public health to provide free flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccines, and updated bivalent boosters to people 6 months of age and older. No health insurance is required.
LA COUNTY VACCINE, COVID-19 NEWS, UPDATES & MORE
Preteen Vaccine Week (PVW) is an annual California observance to be held March 4–8 in 2024. The goals of PVW are to distribute information and materials through multiple avenues such as schools, providers, and the media to promote the preteen doctor visit and to raise awareness about routinely recommended immunizations for preteens: Tdap, HPV, meningococcal, and flu vaccines. March 4 is International HPV Awareness Day, a great time to spread the word about how the HPV vaccine can reduce the risk of cancers caused by certain strains of this common virus.
AB-659 The Cancer Prevention Act
Effective January 1, 2024, the Cancer Prevention Act requires every public and private school to notify 6th grade students and their parents/guardians that they are advised to follow current HPV immunization guidelines before starting 8th grade. CDPH sent this letter to schools describing the Act and sharing implementation resources. (See implementation resources below.) The American Cancer Society and the National HPV vaccination round table are seeking rural health partners to join a learning community focused on improving HPV vaccination among 9–10-year-olds. Click here to read more!
COVID-19 indicators continue to decline in Los Angeles County, with many indicators at or approaching pre-surge levels. This week, Public Health reports 187 average daily COVID-19 cases, a decrease from the 218 reported last week. Reported cases do not include home tests, so the actual number of COVID-19 infections in the community is higher. Click here to read more!
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the recommendations for the viral composition of influenza vaccines for the 2024-2025 influenza season in the northern hemisphere. The announcement was made at an information session after a 4-day meeting on the Composition of Influenza Virus Vaccines. The meeting is held twice annually, once for the southern and once for the northern hemisphere. Click here to read more!

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) hosts a weekly session for Providers, to provide Immunization Branch (IZB) updates, including COVID-19, RSV, Flu and other relevant vaccine and program updates. Each session also provides an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of CDPH Panelists and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Training: Immunization Skills Institute

The Immunization Skills Institute (ISI) is an immunization training tailored for medical assistants (MA), pharmacists, licensed vocational nurses (LVN), or anyone who provides immunizations. This three-hour training combines lecture and mentored practice sessions, to increase competency in safe, effective, and caring immunization techniques.
